Dubbo set the scene for a spectacular show, and a spectacular show was what they got. With rain threatening throughout the week, the day came and so did the sunshine.
Lindsay Mumford of Dubbo Suzuki set the perfect backdrop for quite a special day. As the balls started to fly so did the measurements. Simon Abbott set the bar with a record measurement (RWLCA Senior Record) of 373.9m. While everyone attempted to catch him Abbott just could not be caught.
With a $5000 prize pool on offer we had competitors travel from near and far for the occasion. QLD resident Andrew Brennen pulled out the guns to win Senior division against Abbott, but Abbott had Opens in his sight, as he made his way through the day he showed everyone just how it was done. Abbott (NSW) dominated the final taking the number one spot in the Open division taking home the cash.
Robert Lock, Dubbo Golf Club regular popped in prior to his game and took home the proshop voucher with a great measuremet of 290.3m he was followed closely by Daniel Harper and Craig Murchent with just 10cm separating them.
Peter Gregg debuted onto the Long Drive scene in the Legends division, he went up against local Bob McKeowen and RWLCA regular Lloyd James. Gregg took poll position with a measurement of 260.1. more than 10m past his competition.
