Spirits were not dampened from the day before as competitors endure another day of wild weather. Local boy Ben ‘The Breeder’ Dyer showed his fellow competitors that he was not going to let the bad weather step in his way of his first RWLCA win. Dyer was one of only two competitors who managed a measurement of over 300 meters. Dyer met finals regulars Mark Bylsma and Daniel Lee in the Top 6 shoot out. But with his cheer squad he was not going to let the win slip through his fingers.
Senior final had a de ja vu feeling about it as the same Top 4 competitors from the previous day met again to fight it out. This time local Simon Abbott and Queensland’s Andrew Brennen fought it out for the points. Brennen was not going to let his domination stop as he took another win. Simon however claimed the 4 point bonus for longest ball of the day, leaving just 3 points separating him and Brennen in the Senior Tour Championship.
Ross Taylor continued to leave his mark on the Super Senior division at Georges River. Taylor managed to find an extra 25 meters from his previous day’s efforts. Lloyd James NSW local was hot on Taylor’s heels with a measurement of 232.4m.
The battle between Kerry Devenish and Lloyd James continued at Georges River, Devenish again showing his strength against James but it was just 8.4 meters separating these two. Devenish continues to demonstrate why he is the RWLCA Legends record holder.
Georges Rivers’s locals were out in force however it was new comer Mark Williamson (QLD) who continued to leave his mark. Mark only recently been introduced to the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship Australia but looks like we will be seeing him again to continue his Amateur domination.
